Care Inspections UK (CIUK) has analysed new Care Quality Commission data, which indicates that more than 5,000 care homes in England have not received a full inspection in over five years. The findings raise significant concerns regarding regulatory oversight, consistency and public assurance across the adult social care sector. CIUK believes the backlog highlights the need for a timelier, evidence-based and transparent inspection system that supports both accountability and continuous improvement for providers, residents and families. As the UK’s only UKAS-accredited independent inspection body for adult social care, CIUK can undertake inspections of any care service quickly, professionally and efficiently, delivering detailed, evidence-based reports and practical action plans to support quality improvement and assurance.
